Let’s celebrate people changing the child welfare system

We are looking for nominations for our child welfare game-changers series

Vancouver Island, we want to hear from you.

Do you know of anyone who is working with children and youth in foster care? Every month, IndigiNews will be featuring a child welfare game-changer on Vancouver Island.

Created by The Discourse, in partnership with Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN), IndigiNews is driven by the voices of local communities. We aim to tell stories in a good way.

We also recognize that in B.C., there is an overrepresentation of Indigenous children and youth in government care. We want to elevate stories on Vancouver Island as it relates to addressing this.

We are looking for nominations for those that are working with kids in care. From youth leading innovative programming to executive directors, we recognize that supporting children, youth and families is essential. We will be doing a monthly feature highlighting this important work.

If you would like to nominate a game-changer, please email anna@indiginews.com.
